Ramaswamy: Fear-driven atmosphere is responsible for Cincinnati brawl

Ramaswamy Criticizes Violence in Cincinnati

Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican candidate for governor in Ohio, has expressed his concerns following a recent violent incident in Cincinnati. He attributes such outbreaks of violence to a “culture of fear” prevailing in his state.

In a conversation with Glenn Beck, the co-founder of Blaze Media, Ramaswamy emphasized, “Common sense dictates that hardworking Americans shouldn’t be scared to visit cities, including Cincinnati, for fear of violence.” This statement encapsulates his stance on the urgency of addressing urban safety.

He shared insights from a victim of a separate brawl, recalling that the victim felt neglected by local officials—no one had reached out to her following the incident.

“This illustrates the deeper issues concerning the fear surrounding violence and crime in urban settings,” he added.

Statistics indicate that the chances of falling victim to violent crime in Cincinnati stand at 1 in 137.

“I believe it doesn’t matter whether you’re a Democrat or Republican or what your background is; we should unite against urban violence. This is what we’ve come to…” His words, however, seemed to trail off, reflecting his frustration.

Ramaswamy also recounted his reaction to video footage of the violent attack, describing it as deeply unsettling. “All I saw were bystanders, some cheering, while others got involved. It was disturbing. When the woman fell, I truly thought she was dead; her eyes were open, and she seemed unresponsive,” he said, visibly affected by the incident.

He expressed sorrow over the victim’s plight, noting, “She’s a working single mother who went out for a friend’s birthday—on a rare night out.” After the attack, she found herself needing an Uber, as there were no ambulances available.

Moreover, Ramaswamy highlighted that one of the assailants had been arrested earlier in the month for a different crime, suggesting there’s a broader issue at play within the judicial system.

“This is why I’m campaigning for governor,” he remarked. “Politicians have been hesitant to tackle these problems for far too long.”
