Sean McVay Injured During Game
It’s not just players who can get hurt in football; coaches are at risk too. Recently, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay revealed that he tore his plantar fascia during a game against the Tennessee Titans, which ended in a 33-19 win for his team at Nissan Stadium.
McVay shared, “My legs are good. I tore my plantar fascia, so yeah, well, that’s a good thing.” He added, “But I was dramatic and moved around towards the end of the game. The MRI confirmed that I did it. The good news is that I’m not playing.” There was a hint of humor in his tone as he mentioned, “So if there’s a bit of a cool limp, you know why.”
The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue that supports the arch of the foot. However, McVay didn’t elaborate on whether he would need to wear a walking boot while recovering.
The 39-year-old coach is known for his energetic sideline presence, often seen sprinting to call timeouts or celebrate key plays. Interestingly, before diving into coaching, McVay played as a wide receiver at Miami University in Ohio.
The Rams’ victory against the Titans was largely thanks to a powerful second half, during which they outscored Tennessee 23-6. This win puts the Rams at 2-0, joining the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers at the top of the NFC West.
Looking ahead, the Rams are set to face off against another unbeaten team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in a rematch from last year’s NFC Division Round. This game will take place on Sunday at 1 PM in Philadelphia.
