Rams wide receiver DeMarcus Robinson was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving early Monday after the team's loss to the Eagles on “Sunday Night Football.”
Robinson was stopped and arrested on a Los Angeles freeway for driving over 100 miles per hour. Confirmed by California Highway Patrol.
Officers stopped Robinson's white Dodge sedan on Route 101 around 5:13 a.m. local time.
Robinson came forward and told officers he was a current Rams player, according to a CHP press release.
“Officers objectively observed signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment and Robinson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence,” the statement said. “Mr. Robinson is wanted and released to responsible parties.”
TMZ, The news was first reported byindicated that Robinson refused a field sobriety test at the scene of a traffic stop.
The Rams have not publicly commented on the arrest.
Robinson appeared to be able to speak to reporters virtually on Monday. According to a video posted on the team's website.
News of the arrest broke on the East Coast late Monday night.
Robinson had two catches for 15 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' 37-20 loss to the Eagles on Sunday night at SoFi Stadium.
The wide receiver played in 11 games for the Rams this season, recording 26 catches for 384 yards and six touchdowns.
He has already surpassed his 2023 season total, when he had 371 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 16 games.
Robinson began his career in 2016 after being drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round out of Florida State.
He played with the Chiefs through 2021, then briefly spent time with the Raiders in 2022 before being picked up by the Ravens after being released by Las Vegas after two preseason games.
Robinson signed with the Rams in 2023.
