Byron Young, the standout linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams, was involved in the injury of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart during Monday night’s game.
Initially, Young expressed regret for the injury, stating in an Instagram post that he would “never play to hurt anybody,” and he wished Dart a swift recovery.
However, shortly after his apology, Young took to social media to poke fun at the Giants.
The Rams’ Instagram account shared a photo of Young celebrating a sack by pretending to hang up a phone, accompanied by a meme showing a scared dog donning a Giants hat, as if answering a phone.
Young later reposted the image to his personal Instagram, which seemed to be a light-hearted jab at New York following the Rams’ victory.
In the game, Young was rushing in on a pass play and encountered Dart just as he released the ball. The impact caused Dart’s leg to awkwardly collide with Rams linebacker Josiah Stewart, who was also applying pressure.
This unfortunate collision resulted in Dart twisting his knee, leading to an injury that forced him to leave the game.
Recent reports suggest that Dart may require season-ending knee surgery due to this incident.
While Young’s social media antics weren’t directly aimed at Dart, his choice to celebrate in light of the injury might not sit well with some Giants fans.
