Rand Paul Slams Fauci For An ‘Orchestrated Coverup’ During The COVID-19 Pandemic, Calls Out His Visits With The CIA

Sen. Rand Paul, Republican of Kentucky, on Sunday accused Dr. Anthony Fauci of engaging in an “orchestrated cover-up” during the coronavirus pandemic, saying then-Dr. questioned his visit to the CIA.

Paul appeared on Fox News' “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo” to discuss his new book about Fauci's role during the pandemic. Host Maria Bartiromo asked Paul if Americans could even “trust” government health officials because of the “censorship” of information about the coronavirus and vaccines.

In response, Paul pinned the blame on Fauci, highlighting how Fauci “ordered scientists to say two different things” in public and private advocacy. (Related: 'We need to get to the bottom': Rand Paul raises questions about Fauci's role in 'covering up' coronavirus origins)

“Well, it was clearly supervised.” [Fauci]. The reason we cover this in detail in this book is because he asked scientists to do it. “Because scientists have told us privately that they think this is a manipulated virus, that it was manipulated in a lab, that it came from a lab,” Paul said.

“He persuaded them to say the opposite in public. He commissioned and edited a paper called 'This definitely did not come out of a lab,' but those same scientists Everyone said privately that it most likely came from a lab. So there was actually an organized cover-up regarding this. ”

The Kentucky senator also cited Fauci's visit to the CIA in “early 2020” and questioned whether Fauci may have influenced the agency or vice versa. did. Paul said it was unclear how often Fauci visited the CIA, but noted that information about those meetings had not been “released” to officials despite “requests” for “more than three years.” (Related: 'Did you pay for Twitter?': Rand Paul confronts FBI director over key details of 'Twitter Files' documents)

“We also know that he visited the CIA in early 2020. Seven of the CIA scientists claimed it was from a lab, six to one, but then… We know that it was opposed by the upper echelons.'' We need to know whether Anthony Fauci influenced the upper echelons or vice versa, whether the CIA influenced Anthony Fauci. be. ” Paul asked.

“But we also need to know how often he was visiting and what he was there for. Our understanding is that he was not recorded in the visitor register. But he frequently appeared at the CIA. We need to realize that he was not a scientist working on a cure for cancer.”

“He also controlled a lot of biological weapons funds, a lot of dual-use stuff, but they won't reveal any of this to us. They… We held weekly meetings about risky dual-use research concerns and capability acquisition, and despite our requests for over three years, none of the items from those meetings have been released to us. “Hmm,” Paul said.

Fauci is scheduled to testify before a special House subcommittee for two days in early January to discuss his role as former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during the coronavirus pandemic. Members of the subcommittee are expected to focus on the U.S. response to the coronavirus outbreak and the future response that he is said to have prepared.
