Rangers beat fading Islanders as push for playoff spot continues

Johnny B. Good and the islander's ship is sinking.

In short, this New York battle with playoff impacts on both sides on Tuesday night, as Johnny Brozinski managed to achieve two goals and helped lead Rangers to the Islander stomping 5-1. It was how we went at UBS Arena. The latter adds to the pile of evidence that parts should be sold between now and March 7th.

It wasn't as dominant as the scoreline implied, but seeing them bewildered their big feast on their own ice, Bottom 6 put out a great physical effort, and about the shot I saw a way to calm the concerns count.

“A lot of fun. It's a bit back to Hartford, especially [Brennan Othmann] and [Matt Rempe] On my wings,” Brozinski said. “A lot of fun. I played quite a bit in the O-zone all night.”

The Rangers are currently tied with Ottawa, with the ranking two points behind Columbus drawing an uninspired picture for Bruce Heart for the final playoff spot in the East.

But at least they are not islanders. The islanders sit behind a blue jacket with five of their rivals. The season is on the cliff as Brock Nelson remains signed beyond July 1st.

For the islanders, it was the fourth consecutive loss, the fifth in the sixth, returning to the NHL-.500, further eliminating all the profits from their seven-game wins last month.

The rally in late January, returning to the race in late January, is beginning to become inevitable for the reality of their situation, both for the same stubborn group and for the front office.

“We're fighting for our lives here,” Ryan Prock said, minus four performance that his pair with Scott Pernovich was responsible for in front of his net all night. After showing it, I said. “We have to learn here and we have to prepare for the next thing.”

But even a pleasant victory for the Rangers had a big warning.

Bluesshirt lost Kandle Miller in the second season to a lower body injury, while Adam Fox suffered an upper body injury in the third decline, neither of which returned to the game.

Coach Peter LaViolett said both were being evaluated after the match.

After the first period when the islanders ruled chances, it was the bottom pair and the fourth line that accounted for the entire 3-1 Rangers lead. Pernovich repeatedly screens his own goaltenders and is on the ice for all three.

Things didn't improve for the pair of Ilya Sorokin and Pernovich Palok while the game progressed.

JT Miller cleaned Sorokin out of the slot to get second 4-1 11:21, scoring the Rangers' third goal from line 4. .

It was “Lempe! Lempe!” Inside UBS, Sorokin, who tracked Serenading Igor Shesterkin after Bo Horvat's stone throw early in that period, allowing five goals on 11 shots, was the sixth straight to Shesterkin. We guaranteed that you will sit in the final period that resulted in losses.

“If I said he had a great game, I would say it's full of S-T,” Isles coach Patrick Roy said of his netminder. “It wasn't his best game. He knows he'll bounce because there were some bad bouncing.”

So no, the Rangers weren't too hampered by Chris Cryder's missed out on the second straight game.

But the islanders might have wanted to redo the healthy scratch Scott Mayfield. Back in the lineup, Adam Boqvist looked active and was involved aggressively.

However, Pernovich could be lined up to sit in the next game.

Whether that is ultimately important to the island is a completely different question, as the team that left UBS on Tuesday looked like a playoff threat, so it wasn't them.
