The Rangers' Power Play Unit has seen more HR moves in the past few weeks than we've seen throughout the season.
It has led to some natural growth pain, especially considering that it rarely changes in the past few seasons.
The latest alignments include Zack Jones, Mikazibanejad, JT Miller and Vincent Trochek, with the second featuring K'Andre Miller, Jonny Brodzinski, Brennan Othmann, Alexis Lafrenière and Will Cuylle.
“Yeah, that was different, so we're working a bit,” Director Peter Laviolet said. “That being said, they could score and couldn't find the back of the net.”
The Rangers were 4-0, just three shots in goal, losing a 3-2 overtime to the capital in the yard on Wednesday night, giving the team a 3-16 show after returning from a four-country outbreak.
“We're 2-1 for the third time and they're using their power play,” Zibanejad said. “I don't know if that's a power play opportunity we should do more. I think we should be able to do more about the power play opportunities we had. The power play probably helped us, but again, I think it's the same with the 5-for-5 stuff and even the petty thing we did well.”
Igor Shesterkin He stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced in his 21st loss of the season.
Since 2021-22, Starnetminder has been ranked fourth in victory (130), third in save percentage (.918) and fourth in goals versus average (2.48).

Despite allowing one or fewer goals in 11 of his 21 wins, Shesterkin's numbers in the season were a bit of a hit as the team struggled.
Chris Kryder He missed his sixth straight game with an upper body injury.
He continues skating with the Rangers in practice and morning skating.
Riley Smith Prior to the trading deadline on Friday, the match was held in three consecutive matches with the aim of roster management.
