Rangers’ Jimmy Vesey expected to miss time with injury

The Rangers' forward corps has taken the latest blow after the defensive corps lost Ryan Lindgren for several weeks.

Of the aforementioned players, Edstrom was the only one to suit up in Newark on Monday night.

“That's what training camp is about,” Laviolette said after Monday's practice with the non-game group. “It's a chance for the players to step up. I think some of the players had a good camp and that's the evaluation process. It's still going. There's still three. [preseason] There are still games left, so those evaluations are still being done. ”

“I thought we played pretty well in the first period, but we just made some big mistakes and allowed ourselves a comeback,” Laviolette said. “I didn't like it in the second period. I didn't think we were sharp at all. We were slow, we didn't turn the puck over, we didn't make good decisions. We could have skated better. , I thought I could have competed a little better.

“Once we got into the third period, I thought we took care of the issues and kept pressing until the end and kept trying to get into the game. We finally got one on the board, but it was too little too late. .”

McKie, Anton Breed and Adam Arne wore letters to Rangers.

Bly scored the Rangers' only goal of the game off a long rebound in the third period.

To fill out the lineup, the Rangers recalled Blake Hillman and Blade Jenkins from the Wolfpack at pro tryouts.
