Rangers’ Ryan Lindgren leaves game vs. Islanders with injury

The Rangers are once again holding tight on Ryan Lindgren.

Over the past few years, the Blueshirts have gotten used to seeing Lindgren get back up and healthy even when he looks like he’s been hit hard.

But there was no immediate reprieve when he fell into the left corner after taking a hit from Jean-Gabriel Pageau during the second period of Sunday’s game against the Islanders.

Instead, Lindgren was helped to the locker room without weight on his left leg and did not return for the third period.

This is far from an ideal situation for the Rangers, who are already without right wing Jacob Trouba with a lower-body injury.

Lindgren has missed just two games this season despite the bruised game.

If the Rangers aren’t ready in time for Tuesday’s game against Winnipeg, the Rangers could acquire a right-handed defenseman at the trade deadline and 2027 addition Chad Ruhwedel could be in the lineup for his Broadway debut. is high. Instead, he went to Pittsburgh for a fourth-round pick.
