All good things come to an end.
For the Rangers, it was another season in which they missed out on a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Panthers were a formidable opponent for the Blueshirts, losing four of six games.
The Rangers’ core is in place, but general manager Chris Drury will need to make some key changes this summer if this team is to get through some tough times.
Who’s staying? Who’s going to go? Who’s coming in?
In the season finale of the “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast, Brian Boyle, Molly Walker and Larry Brooks look back on this season and preview a big offseason to come.
A huge thank you to Brian Boyle for joining the podcast crew this year. Boyle has provided some great insight and stories from his time at Rangers. Doing the podcast with him every week was a joy and he was the perfect addition. Thanks to everyone who listened and tuned in to the show this year.
“Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with Brian Boyle, Molly Walker and Larry Brooks
- Farewell Day: Rangers players react to talk from Tuesday’s Breakout Day. Has this season been disappointing? The Panthers were more physical.
- What needs to change: The Rangers need to add size and bulk up front, the core is strong but needs to get stronger.
- Off-season preview: Expect to see big moves over the summer, I doubt they’ll bring it back.
- Injuries: A look back at the injuries the Rangers suffered during the playoffs.
- Free agents: The Rangers need to get Igor Shesterkin’s extension done this summer. I think they’ll take care of Ryan Lindgren. I think Kaapo Kakko is best off going elsewhere. It would be hard for the Rangers to let him go. They need to sign Braden Schneider. The Rangers need a 6’4, 6’5 slugger.
