Michael Rappaport Speaks Out on Anti-Semitism

Comedian and actor Michael Rappaport has expressed his concerns about the silence from many non-Jewish individuals regarding the violent attacks on the Jewish community. In a recent episode of his podcast, he urged fellow Jews to remain alert as anti-Semitic violence appears to be rising, with less support coming from outside their community.

“Let me tell you something, Jews, the cavalry is not coming. They won’t come for us, and frankly, they don’t care,” Rappaport stated emphatically during the podcast.

This warning follows a troubling incident in Boulder, Colorado, where a man named Mohamed Sabri Soliman is accused of attacking pro-Jewish protesters. Soliman, reportedly an Egyptian national who overstayed his visa, was arrested after multiple demonstrators were injured during the event, which protested Hamas’s ongoing hostage situation in Gaza.

Rappaport has been an outspoken advocate for Israel and the Jewish community, especially after the attacks on October 7, 2023. His remarks come at a time when there’s been increased tension and a flurry of protests at various universities across the U.S.

During the Boulder attack, Soliman was seen on video shouting anti-Israel slogans, and he later made alarming statements to the police about wanting to harm “all the Zionist people.” This attack occurred just weeks after two Israeli diplomats were shot at a Jewish event in Washington, D.C.

Rappaport reflected on the lack of vocal support from other marginalized groups and voiced his frustration over their perceived indifference. “I’ve spoken out for various causes—Black Lives Matter, women’s rights, and more—yet where are the voices now for Jews facing real threats?” he said.

He also mentioned his past contributions to social movements, highlighting his solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement by posting a black square on social media back in 2020. “But now? It feels as though no one is saying anything for us,” he added, expressing feelings of sadness and frustration over the situation.
