Rapper POORSTACY, whose real name was Carlito Milfort, has sadly died at the age of 26 following a medical incident in Florida. Boca Raton police confirmed that he passed away early Saturday.
The Palm Beach County Coroner has verified his death, although the exact cause remains unclear at this time.
According to a hotel employee in Boca Raton, Poorstacy faced a medical emergency on the morning of his death and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. Reports indicate that he had been staying at the hotel for about ten days, accompanied by a woman and her infant.
Fortunately, no one else was reported injured or needed hospitalization.
POORSTACY was emerging as a notable talent in the rap scene, having attracted attention for his innovative blend of emo, punk, and hip-hop. He had formed collaborative relationships with several artists, including Travis Barker, the drummer of Blink-182.
Oli Sykes, the frontman of Bring Me The Horizon, was among his closest friends in the industry. Poorstacy fondly reminisced in 2021 about their friendship, mentioning that Sykes often sent him clothes he thought would suit him and that they would play video games together late into the night.
He also contributed to the soundtrack of the Grammy-nominated film Bill & Ted Face the Music and had released two studio albums and two EPs by such a young age.
Since the news of his passing, social media platforms have been inundated with tributes. One fan wrote, “Love you forever, brother,” while another expressed, “We’ll get through this together, brother. I need you here.”
The Palm Beach County coroner has not yet provided any further comments.
