The cause of death of rapper Fatman Scoop, who collapsed onstage during a concert in Hamden, Connecticut last month, has been announced. He was 56 years old.
The B.B.C. Reports A spokesman for the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told Pennsylvania authorities that the star had high blood pressure and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
Over the years, Fatman Scoop has been known to collaborate with artists such as rapper Missy Elliott, pop star Mariah Carey and rapper Jermaine Dupri.
His real name is Isaac Freeman III and he is best known for his hit songs. Being faithfulHe won first place in the UK in 2003 and appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2015.
In a statement released at the time of his death, his family described him as “not just a world-class performer, but a father, brother, uncle and friend.”
“He brought laughter into our lives, was a constant source of support and gave us unwavering strength and courage,” the statement added.
Scoop was considered one of New York's most influential hip-hop stars of the 1990s, and his management company MN2S said at the time of his death that “his legacy will live on through his timeless music.”
Fatman Scoop has died after suffering a medical emergency during a show in Connecticut, his tour manager announced.
