Rapper Fatman Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman, collapsed during a concert in Hamden, Connecticut on Friday and died at the age of 53.
Video footage of the incident at Town Center Park obtained by TMZ: show Fatman Scoop collapsed on the stage, saying, “If you're here to party, make some noise,” and the music stopped and the crowd went quiet.

Several people then rushed onto the stage and administered CPR to Scoop, while a man onstage appeared to try to distract the crowd so the show could continue.
“Hampden, where are you guys at, I just want to say, shout out for me,” the man said, but failed to elicit an enthusiastic response from the crowd.
“How's it going guys?” the person added as people in the back performed chest compressions on the “Be Faithful” rapper.
“I want to know what happened to Fatman Scoop!” a concert-goer shouted.
“Are you doing CPR? Oh my god,” another concert-goer yelled.
Shortly after, footage showed the “All Night Long” rapper being carried on a stretcher to a local hospital, with an emotionally distraught woman crying out, “Lord, touch him. Please, Father God! Lord, touch him, please, Lord. Please, touch him, Father God. Oh, God!”

Authorities told TMZ they were dispatched for a medical emergency at 8:33 p.m.
Multiple reports have since emerged that the rapper has died.
“According to his tour manager, Fatman Scoop passed away after suffering a medical emergency during a performance in Connecticut,” radio station KBXX 97.9 The Box said in a Facebook post.
The radio station added that Fatman Scoop “collapsed while performing and was rushed to hospital. The incident occurred at the Green and Gold Party summer concert at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut.”
“He was transported to the hospital after emergency medical personnel performed CPR at the scene,” KBXX 97.9 The Box added. “Hampden Mayor Lauren Garrett asks residents to 'please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.'”

Over the years, Fatman Scoop has been known to collaborate with artists such as rapper Missy Elliott, pop star Mariah Carey and rapper Jermaine Dupri.
The rapper's cause of death remains officially unknown.
