Rapper Glorilla Faces Drug Charges in Georgia
Rapper Glorilla, a supporter of Kamala Harris, is dealing with drug-related criminal charges in Georgia. This comes after police reportedly found marijuana in her home while responding to reports of robbery.
Forsyth County police arrived at Glorilla’s residence on Saturday, responding to claims of a robbery and potential gunfire. Upon investigation, officers discovered over an ounce of marijuana and charged the rapper, whose real name is Gloria Harelja Woods, with possession of a controlled substance.
The police report indicated that officials detected a strong smell of illegal drugs upon entering Woods’ home. They then secured a search warrant, which led to the discovery of drugs clearly visible in a bedroom closet.
At the time of the search, Woods was not present in her home. She had previously supported Kamala Harris during a rally in Milwaukee late last year.
Woods was booked on Tuesday and subsequently posted bail. This marks her second arrest, as she was previously charged with driving under the influence last year.
The police are continuing their investigation into the robbery incident.
Sheriff Ron Freeman stated, “The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime and is committed to bringing the suspect to trial. We must also support and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
Meanwhile, Woods’ legal team has criticized the police for arresting her, claiming she was the victim in this situation. They argue that instead of investigating the home invasion, police sought a search warrant after finding what they believed to be marijuana. “Mrs. Woods is the victim here, not a suspect. This reflects poorly on our law enforcement system,” they pointed out.
