Two aides of rapper Kee Glock were arrested while trying to enter the Governor’s Ball over the weekend, according to law enforcement sources and prosecutors.
Joshua Crutcher, 31, and Dion Michaels, 22, who are part of the Memphis rapper’s entourage and scheduled to perform at the New York City music festival, were apprehended by security on Sunday as they approached the VIP area. Reports indicate they were stopped in their truck around 5 PM at Corona Park.
The court filing states Crutcher was found with a .40 caliber Glock 23 tucked into his waistband, loaded with 18 rounds, including one in the chamber.
Meanwhile, Michaels, who drove to the venue, admitted to security that there was a firearm in the center console of his vehicle. Upon inspection, they discovered a 9mm Glock 43X, which was nearly fully loaded with nine rounds.
Additionally, a magazine containing 20 more rounds of 9mm ammunition was seized. Court documents also revealed that a switchblade was found in Ford’s center console.
Both individuals now face multiple charges related to weapons possession, with some being felonies. Crutcher’s bail was set at $10,000 cash or $30,000 bond after his arrest, and he is expected back in court on June 18. Michaels was released on his own recognizance and has a court date scheduled for August 13.
It’s not clear if Kee Glock, 27, was with either of them at the festival.
Born Markeyvius Lashun Cathey, Kee Glock, a cousin of the late Memphis rapper Young Dolph, recently released his fourth studio album, Glockaveli. His appearance at the Governor’s Ball is part of the Glockaveli tour, which kicked off on May 21 and will wrap up on June 30 across 21 US cities, as indicated on his Instagram account.
