Kid Cudi Reports Car Arson Amid Feud
US rapper Kid Cudi revealed on Thursday that his home was broken into and his car was set ablaze, which he attributes to tensions surrounding his relationship with another rapper.
This statement came during much-anticipated testimony in Manhattan federal court, following a previous hearing last week involving Ventura.
Once a significant figure in the music industry, the individual in question is currently facing trial for charges related to sex trafficking and assault.
Cudi described a moment when Ventura labeled him as “scary” and “tense,” prompted by Combs sharing insights about their disputes.
As Cudi recounted, Ventura and Combs, who were once a couple, had taken her to the Sunset Marquee Hotel for her safety once they split.
“I wanted to get her off the radar for a bit,” Cudi testified.
While the two were in hiding, Cudi received a call from Combs’ assistant, Capri Corn Clark.
Cudi reached out to Combs, who simply stated, “I’m waiting for you.” However, upon his arrival, he couldn’t find Combs but did locate his dog, typically allowed to roam the house, locked away in the bathroom.
Cudi initially felt compelled to confront Combs but ultimately chose to call the police instead.
A short time later, in January 2012, he received alarming news from a dog sitter reporting that his car was on fire.
During the proceedings, Ju-dean presented six photos of a damaged, abandoned vehicle located near a Molotov cocktail.
When questioned about his reaction to this discovery, Cudi, dressed in a black leather jacket and a white tee, simply expressed his disbelief, saying, “what the…”
Ventura previously testified that Combs had issued threats to destroy Cudi’s vehicle in a fit of rage linked to their love triangle.
“I’m really angry,” she stated.
Prosecutors allege that Combs has maintained a criminal enterprise for years, engaging in activities like arson, bribery, and deceit.
At 55, Combs also faces charges of sex trafficking and could be sentenced to life in prison if found guilty of federal crimes.
Ventura claimed during her testimony that Combs had forced a “freak-off” sex marathon involving a male prostitute for many years. Upon discovering her romance with Cudi, she described Combs’ reaction as violently enraged, threatening to release explicit footage of them.
“He was extremely angry,” she recounted during four days of testimony. “He threatened to release a video that would harm Scott and me.”
Cudi affirmed that when he confronted the situation with the burnt car, Combs acted oblivious, saying, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
When prosecutors asked Cudi how he interpreted that statement, he replied, “He was lying.”
