Kamala Harris’ rally in Atlanta is now attracting even more attention after rapper Megan Thee Stallion announced on social media platforms that she will be joining the vice presidential candidate and presumptive Democratic nominee on Tuesday night.

Meghan said she plans to put on something “special” a performance alongside speeches from several Democratic senators.

With the vice president only slightly ahead of Biden in the polls, Harris’ campaign is targeting battleground states in an attempt to revitalize a Democratic message that has struggled under Joe Biden’s candidacy.

The Harris campaign has made reaching young voters through pop culture a top priority, including its decision to feature popular rapper Megan Thee Stallion and online ads that highlight abortion-related topics to target young people, especially women.

“This energy is contagious,” said Georgia Democratic Party Chair Nikema Williams. “My phone hasn’t stopped ringing. People want to be part of this movement.”

Meanwhile, Republican consultant Brian Robinson also believes Harris’s takeover has shifted the balance of power in the race.

“Trump was supposed to win Georgia. It’s over,” he said. “Democrats have a chance here to reset.”

Harris campaign communications director Michael Tyler said he expects the race to be as close as the 2020 election. Tyler argued that Harris and her supporters will continue to educate voters about Trump’s dangerous Project 2025 plan to ban abortion nationwide, restrict birth control and further limit women’s access to pregnancy. Although President Trump has repeatedly denied having any involvement in Project 2025 and does not agree with all of its contents, Democrats continue to try to portray him as the promoter of the plan and claim that he is secretly conspiring with the Heritage Foundation.

Donald Trump has also publicly rejected Project 2025 and distanced himself from the policy.

Trump’s senior adviser Susie Wiles and strategist Chris LaCivita said in a joint statement:

“President Trump’s campaign has made it clear for over a year that Project 2025 has no connection to the campaign, does not represent the campaign, and should not be associated in any way with the campaign or the president.”
