The spokesman added that an emergency call was made to authorities claiming that their friend had shot an adult black woman, and warned that two potential suspects, all black, were still in the residence.
After responding to the scene and finding no evidence of the crime, lawmakers ultimately determined that the call was a swatting incident.
The term “Swatting” targets someone by making incorrect calls to emergency services – using anonymous tools like Google Voice or VPN to make calls that appear to be coming from a specific location. Swatting is designed to encourage SWAT teams to arrive at targeted homes and to inspire unsuspecting victims to descend.
The sheriff's department did not say whether an obvious swatting call was made to Minaj's residence, but one of her neighbors confirmed. Los Angeles Times That law enforcement responded to the “superbase” singer's home.
This is not the first time Minaj has appeared to be targeted in a swatting attack.
In 2023, sheriff's deputies responded to the “Starship” singer's home after someone made a false appeal to authorities claiming that Minaj's residence was on fire. Report By TMZ.
A month later, another call was made to authorities mistakenly report shootings in the same home.
Minaj is among several other celebrities, including Miley Cyrus, Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber, Tom Cruise, Kris Jenner, Paris Hilton, Rihanna, and Justin Timberlake. It's attracting attention.
Call swatting appears to have become a growing issue in recent months.
As reported by Breitbart News, at least 15 conservative politics and media figures were wattled within a week last month, sparking questions about who was involved in what was called “domestic terrorism and attempted murder.”
FBI Director Kash Patel, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino also responded to a wave of dangerous crime.
