Rapper Travis Scott Arrested in Paris for Alleged Assault

PARIS (AFP) – US rapper Travis Scott was arrested following an alleged fight at a five-star hotel in the French capital early on Friday, prosecutors said.

“Police officers were called to the George V hotel and arrested Travis Scott on suspicion of assaulting a security guard, who intervened to separate the rapper and his bodyguard,” the Paris prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

It was not immediately clear whether the 33-year-old singer was in custody.

Scott was spotted attending the Olympic men’s basketball semifinals on Thursday night.

Records show the music star, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was arrested in Miami Beach in June on charges of trespass and disorderly conduct by intoxication.

Scott’s “Utopia” was nominated for Best Rap Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Other initiatives include distribution deals with Nike, video game maker Epic Games and fast-food chain McDonald’s.

Scott has two children with social media mogul and business mogul Kylie Jenner.
