Rapper Yo Gotti’s Brother Fatally Shot Outside Memphis Restaurant

Rapper Yo Gotti's brother, Anthony “Big Joke” Mims, was shot and killed outside a Memphis restaurant on Saturday, and police say he was the target of the attack.

Mims (pictured, right) was rushed to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The second shooting victim was taken to the hospital by car and then airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis in critical condition.

Police said Mims had attended a relative's funeral that day.

Investigators have not released a motive or list of suspects, but they feel Mims may have been intentionally targeted.

“We feel that the person who was shot may have been targeted by the suspect,” Memphis Police Deputy Chief Paul Wright said at a news conference Saturday.

White did not connect the shooting to the shooting of the “I Am” rapper, but did not rule out the possibility.

Big Jook worked at Yo Gotti's Collective Media Group on the business side of the label.

Yo Gotti (pictured, left), whose real name is Mario Sentel Gidden Mims, has yet to issue a public statement about the shooting.

The rapper's own restaurant also became the scene of violence. Last March, a shooting at his Memphis restaurant, Prive, left one man dead and five others injured.
