The NBA trade market is heating up, with the Raptors and Pacers currently negotiating a potential deal.
Eastern Conference teams are discussing a potential trade centered on two-time All-Star forward Pascal Siakam. According to The Athletic.
The deal sends former Net Bruce Brown to Toronto along with three first-round draft picks and other salary.
According to reports, negotiations between the Raptors and Pacers are well advanced, with several proposals exchanged between the two teams.
Although no deal has been finalized yet, the Pacers appear to be interested in completing a trade.
Sportsnet's Michael Grange added additional context Tuesday night.
“It doesn't feel like anything is imminent, but you never know.” grunge wrote x. “The Pacers have been in the mix for a while, and the Raptors have been in active negotiations with the team and the Pacers for a while. Is this going to cross the line or is this just a sign that the market is moving up?” I would like to see what happens.”
“The key to this deal with the Pacers will be the young talent they have.” he added. “The Pacers' three picks depend on protection, but they are all likely to be in their mid-teens, and the additional pick in 2024 is likely to be a low No. 1 pick in a weak draft. Mathurin and Nembhard It would be fascinating, obviously.”
Since Siakam is in the final year of his contract, he has some authority over the deal, and any team looking to acquire him will likely want to know the possibility of re-signing him.
The Kings were recently interested in acquiring Siakam before the Feb. 8 deadline, but broke off talks with the Raptors after that became clear. According to The AthleticSiakam likely won't want to sign a contract extension in Sacramento.

And while extension talks between Siakam and Toronto have not progressed in recent months, retaining the star forward and seeking an extension could be an option.
Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists for Toronto this season.
