Rashee Rice's former girlfriend accuses him of domestic abuse

Allegations Against Chiefs’ Receiver Lachie Rice

On Wednesday, former girlfriend of Chiefs wide receiver Lachie Rice, Dacoda Jones, shared alarming claims of domestic violence in an Instagram post.

In her message, she revealed that she had “dealt with abuse for years” and expressed that since breaking up, her life has been “nothing but hell.” She chose not to name the individual she accused.

Her post included 14 photos, highlighting the physical abuse she allegedly experienced. These images showed various injuries, including a cut on her lip and bruises on her legs and arms, alongside signs of vandalism.

The Chiefs acknowledged awareness of the allegations and mentioned that they were in communication with the NFL but opted not to provide additional details or name Rice.

The Times has requested comments from both the NFL and Rice’s representatives, but there hasn’t been any immediate response. An email directed to Jones’ social media accounts also went unanswered by the time of publication.

“I’m tired of being silent and defending his image. After eight years, enough is enough!” Jones proclaimed in her post. “I have endured years of abuse. Since our breakup a few months back, I’ve faced nothing but trouble. He has shown possessive behavior, even breaking down my door at times. Once, he even laid on me while I was pregnant and locked me outside in frigid temperatures upon discovering he had cheated.”

Jones, who shares two children with Rice, further claimed he not only destroyed her belongings but also had multiple infidelities. She stressed that he was not actively involved in their children’s lives and had attempted to evict her and the kids from their home.

She concluded her post by emphasizing her choice to prioritize her peace and wellbeing. “I’ve held onto his image for too long and it’s time to stand up for myself,” she stated.

While Rice has not spoken out publicly regarding these matters, sources close to him have suggested that Jones is simply a disgruntled former partner upset over his new relationship.

This latest issue could compound difficulties for Rice, who recently pleaded guilty related to a high-speed incident in Dallas that left several people injured. He was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to serve 30 days in county jail, in addition to being suspended for six games and facing settlements exceeding $1 million to the crash victims.
