Domestic Violence Allegations Against NFL Player
The former girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Lachie Rice took to social media recently to accuse him of domestic violence.
Dakoda Nicole shared a series of images that illustrated both damage to her home and visible bruises on her body and face. In a lengthy post aimed at Rice, she expressed her frustration.
“I’ve kept silent for too long and I’m done protecting his reputation. After eight years, I can’t take it anymore. I’ve faced years of abuse, and since we broke up a few months ago, it’s been nothing short of chaos,” Nicole shared.
Nicole and Rice share two sons, Kassai and Kayden. In her post, she also mentioned various grievances including accusations of cheating and other forms of abuse.
She described Rice as controlling, recalling instances where he broke down the door to her new home multiple times. She recounted feeling unsafe during her pregnancy, even recalling an incident where she was locked outside in freezing temperatures upon discovering his infidelity. “He even damaged my clothes and shoes,” she added. “He tries to present himself as a great father, but he’s really doing the bare minimum.”
In a further note about their separation, Nicole stated, “He left us behind in Kansas, and I had to plead with him for funds just to drive to Texas with my kids. He hasn’t kept up his end of our agreement and is now trying to evict us.” She reflected on how tiring it has become to uphold his image, saying she’s now focused on her peace and her children’s welfare.
Effective October 2023, Rice is serving a six-game suspension due to violations of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Guidelines. This suspension was related to serious charges connected to a crash he was involved in on a Dallas freeway back in March.
Rice had been driving a Lamborghini at dangerously high speeds and was charged after a collision in which he fled the scene. After pleading guilty, he received a sentence that included probation, jail time, and financial restitution for medical expenses incurred by the victims.
