Spectrum News 1 broadcaster Gary Ellerson tweeted on Saturday, “Think of the Jets players asking 12 people to join them in New York on social media. ‘Why 12 people?’ ‘s teammates don’t ask him to stay here?”
In response, Douglas, who has played with Rodgers since signing with Green Bay in October 2021, said Packers players can contact the quarterback by text instead of posting on social media.
“Because we have his number, you can actually text him instead of writing on social media,” Douglas wrote. “As our leader, he knows how each person on the roster feels about him.”

Rogers liked Douglas’ tweet, but did not respond in writing.
Jets players, including cornerback Sauce Gardner, have shared posts on social media inviting Rodgers to New York.

On Thursday, Gardner delivered on his promise and threw Cheesehead into the fire as his negotiations with Rogers dominated the headlines.
“Where’s A-Rod? Where’s A-Rod? Let’s make this happen,” Gardner said alongside teammates Garrett Wilson and Bryce Hall. “This is what I am talking about now.
“We need to lock in. Come here to win the Super Bowl.”
Meeting with Jets executives in Malibu last Tuesday, Rodgers said it “won’t be long” before he reveals the next step in his NFL career.
The 39-year-old could decide to retire, request a tradeout from Green Bay, or return to the Packers for his 19th season with the team.
“It’s always interesting to meet important people in sports,” Rogers told Brandon Marshall of the Jets meeting at a charity football event in California on Saturday.
“That’s all I give you. Stay tuned.”
When asked how long the public will have to wait for his decision, Rodgers grinned and said, All of these have time limits. ”
