Ratcliffe: Time limits might not shield Obama administration officials from possible Russiagate charges

Potential Accusations Against Obama and Intelligence Officials

CIA Director John Ratcliffe mentioned on Sunday that he may not dismiss possible accusations against former President Barack Obama and the Director of Intelligence Affairs. This comes in light of claims that they undermined President Donald Trump through an intelligence report concerning Russian interference in the 2016 election.

“In a conspiracy, I don’t think the law of restriction will have an impact, as the law of restriction won’t be enforced until the last act and advice on that conspiracy,” Ratcliffe stated.

“What’s important here is that those involved are still influential in the situation. They seem to ignore what happened in 2016 and 2020,” he added.

“I’ll let Attorney General Pam Bondi and our Justice Department, along with FBI Director Kash Patel, handle the investigation and tell us what they find,” Ratcliffe further noted.

Talks of potential lawsuits against key figures linked to the alleged Russian conspiracy have picked up steam following a briefing by Director of National Intelligence Tarsi Gabbard on July 18. Gabbard has reportedly been looking into claims surrounding a “Russian hoax” that involved meetings with former DNI James Clapper, former FBI director James Comey, and former CIA director John Brennan after the 2016 election.

Gabbard explained that a 2016 Intelligence Community assessment indicated that Russia “didn’t have the intention or ability to hack US elections.” However, this assessment was later retracted under Obama’s directive to create a new Intelligence Election assessment.

Gabbard characterized this behavior as an attempt by high-level Obama officials to “overturn the will of the American people,” and she has presented documents to the Department of Justice for potential prosecution.

“Trump has only been re-elected thanks to DNI Gabbard, myself, Pam Bondi, and Kash Patel, who brought light to hidden intelligence and evidence that should have been exposed,” Ratcliffe commented.

Ratcliffe also indicated that a classified 29-page document from John Durham’s report, which investigates the connections between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia, will soon be released. He detailed that key figures, including John Brennan, James Clapper, Hillary Clinton, and James Comey, have all given testimony within the last five years.

“Much of that testimony contradicts the foundational intelligence that is soon to be classified in the Durham annex,” Ratcliffe remarked.

He also noted that the classified appendix of the Durham Report would be declassified in the coming weeks. Ratcliffe reiterated that restrictions wouldn’t apply to those involved in the alleged conspiracy.
