Ravens Cornerback Marlon Humphrey to Join Trump for Submarine Facility Announcement
WASHINGTON — Marlon Humphrey, the star cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens, is set to meet with President Trump on Tuesday as the president announces a new submarine facility for Baltimore.
Humphrey, who has played his entire decade-long NFL career with the Ravens, will have a chance to discuss his charity endeavors with Trump, along with their mutual interests in football and golf. It should be an interesting exchange, really.
“Marlon Humphrey is a great talent, player, and leader for the Ravens,” said Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz. He emphasized that Humphrey is highly regarded both in the locker room and in Baltimore.
Other Ravens players are anticipated to join Trump at Tradepoint Atlantic, a logistics and industrial center spanning 3,300 acres, where he will unveil plans for a $3.7 billion shipyard developed in partnership with Anduril Industries. This facility is expected to create around 3,100 jobs and is considered a significant investment in the region.
The shipyard aims to produce essential components for the Virginia-class submarine, aligning with the administration’s focus on showcasing its job creation and manufacturing achievements ahead of the midterm elections on November 3.
This new facility will be pretty sizable, covering about 2 million square feet over 187 acres—roughly equivalent to 40 football fields.
Tuesday’s event is notable as it represents one of the few occasions where the president is visiting a blue state amidst a campaign tour aimed at rallying Republican candidates in states like Texas, Alabama, and Nebraska.
With concerns about the economy at the forefront for many voters, the White House is stressing its achievements in job creation specifically within blue-collar sectors, asserting that manufacturing jobs are on the rise.
Recent weeks have seen Trump announce other projects, including a new steel plant in Iowa and a natural gas pipeline in Alaska, as part of this ongoing effort.
Moreover, the president has made it clear that he hopes to see increased Navy investments in shipbuilding, having signed an executive order in April 2025 to revitalize the country’s maritime industrial base.
Tradepoint Atlantic is recognized for spearheading one of the largest industrial redevelopment efforts in the Baltimore area. The site, formerly home to Bethlehem Steel, has been transformed into a hub for warehouses and manufacturing operations.
Additionally, Tradepoint plays a crucial role in managing a significant volume of freight for the Port of Baltimore, which ranks among the top 20 busiest ports in the United States.
