Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Tyler Huntley Discusses Calling Shedeur Sanders
After a recent game, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley expressed a desire to call Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders, reflecting on their connection. The Ravens are in a tight spot; they need to beat the Green Bay Packers to maintain their playoff hopes. Meanwhile, the Browns aim for an upset against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who could clinch the AFC North title with a win.
Huntley shared his thoughts with reporters, indicating he might watch the upcoming game from home. “I’m trying to get out of here so I can call Shedeur right away and make sure we get it done,” he said.
During their time in Browns training camp, Huntley, alongside Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, and Joe Flacco, was vying for a starting position. Ultimately, Flacco secured the role but was traded mid-season. Pickett also moved on, ending up with the Las Vegas Raiders, while Huntley was cut and signed by the Ravens. Gabriel got some starting moments, and Sanders had a notable season as well.
Huntley recalled meeting Sanders at camp, mentioning, “I had just gotten to the Browns. I knew him, and he probably knew me, but once I got to the Browns, we just bonded a little bit more. He’s a cool guy.” A win for Sanders and the Browns would mark a significant milestone for the rookie quarterback.
Interestingly, ESPN noted the familial connection: Shedeur’s father, Deion Sanders, intercepted a pass from Aaron Rodgers back in 2005 while he was playing for the Packers. Now, nearly twenty years later, Shedeur is set to face Rodgers in a critical matchup.
