Birthday Touchdown for Ray Davis

During the Thursday night game against the Texans in Houston, Bills kick returner Ray Davis celebrated his 26th birthday in style. Late in the second quarter, he scored a remarkable 97-yard touchdown on a kickoff return.

Davis executed a spin move around Houston defenders near the 30-yard line, managing to weave his way into the end zone without much resistance. This marked his first touchdown return of the season, briefly giving the Bills a 16-13 lead. However, the Texans managed to score just before halftime, erasing that lead.

On the night, Davis showcased his skills with a total of 337 yards on 11 returns.

As for the Bills’ overall performance, quarterback Josh Allen had a relatively quiet first half, completing 12 of 16 passes for 106 yards along with one interception. Running back James Cook III contributed as well, scoring Buffalo’s sole offensive touchdown by rushing 45 yards early in the first quarter.

Entering Week 12, the Bills held a 7-3 record, sitting in second place in the AFC East behind the Patriots. Currently, they occupy a wild-card spot in the AFC, while the Texans were just outside that position with a 5-5 record. It’s worth noting that Houston has been dealing with injuries, losing both quarterback C.J. Stroud and running back Joe Mixon.

Stroud had previously missed three straight games due to a concussion sustained in Week 9, with backup quarterback Davis Mills stepping in effectively during that time. Mills recently led the Texans to a victory over the Jaguars, marking his first start in almost three seasons.

Overall, it’s been an eventful week for both teams, filled with ups and downs—and we’re still only halfway through the season!
