Rays to play at Yankees’ Steinbrenner Field in 2025

The Yankees are helping the rival Rays stay in Tampa until 2025 after their stadium was severely damaged by Hurricane Milton.

The Rays play their home games at Steinbrenner Field, the Yankees' spring training home. According to the Tampa Bay Times.

They reportedly chose Steinbrenner Field over the Phillies' complex in Clearwater.

Steinbrenner Field is also the home of the Yankees' Single-A affiliate, the Tampa Tarpons.

St. Petersburg's Tropicana Field, the domed stadium where the Rays have played since its inception in 1998, was severely damaged in last month's hurricane, with many of its roof panels completely destroyed.

The stadium won't be open for play during the 2025 season, but could be ready in 2026 after a $55.7 million renovation, according to a 412-page report released Tuesday by the city of St. Petersburg.

Plans have long been in the works for the Rays to build a new $1.3 billion stadium in St. Petersburg for the 2028 season.
