His second play at Hilton Head is nearing the end, and the leaderboard is absolutely fantastic.
While it can be hard to feel big after a large championship, the RBC is one of eight signature events on the PGA Tour this season and will go a long way in winning the top field. Justin Thomas leads with a 12-under par, but think of other names hiding.
- Si Woo Kim and Russell Henley (the winner of the API) are both 10 under
- Tommy Fleetwood is still looking for his first tour victory at 9 under
- Defending champion Scotty Scheffler is 8 under, seeking his first victory of the season
- Celebrities such as Brian Herman, Morikawa Charcoal and Maverick McNerry are all 7 under
As pointed out, Scotty Schaeffler is hoping for his first victory of the season on the tour, and happens to be the defending champion at RBC. While we’re on the theme of players we’re trying to do things, Justin Thomas is about to convert his first round lead for the first time since 2019.
These are the kind of stories that Tour hoped to develop by assembling these signature events. It looks like we’re on quite a weekend. Buckle up.
