Jill Zarin Criticizes Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show, Gets Let Go from Reunion
Jill Zarin, a familiar face from “The Real Housewives of New York City,” had some strong words about Bad Bunny’s halftime performance, leading to her dismissal from the reunion show scheduled for E! She was originally part of the cast’s reunion, but now, her name has been removed from the lineup.
In a statement, Blink 49 Studios, the show’s production company, announced, “In light of recent public comments by Jill Zarin, we have decided not to move forward with her involvement in ‘The Golden Life.’ We are committed to creating a series that aligns with our standards and values.”
Zarin took to Instagram to voice her criticisms about the halftime show, though she quickly deleted the video. However, it was already circulated online. In her remarks, she suggested, “So we all agree… it was the worst halftime show of all time. We’re celebrating the 250th anniversary in the United States right now, and I don’t think it’s appropriate to do it in Spanish.” She also expressed her discomfort with some of the performance elements, commenting on Bad Bunny’s behavior during the show. “I think it was totally inappropriate. There are a lot of young kids watching the Super Bowl and he doesn’t need to grab himself every five seconds. Is he that anxious?”
Her critiques didn’t stop there. Zarin mentioned her frustration with not understanding the lyrics, which were in Spanish, and noted the absence of white performers. “To me, it seemed like a political statement because there were literally no white people in the whole thing,” she said, adding, “I think it was an ICE issue, and I think the NFL sold out.” She called the situation “embarrassing,” repeatedly expressing her disappointment.
Interestingly, some pointed out that Lady Gaga, who is white, performed alongside Bad Bunny during the show. Zarin further commented on Gaga’s appearance, stating, “I didn’t recognize her! I literally had to Google her face to see who it was. We all couldn’t agree on who it was,” she laughed, reflecting on the confusion during the halftime performance.
After her dismissal, Zarin stated that the producers “didn’t even give me a chance.” She added, “I deleted it immediately. People make mistakes. I’m human too.”
