“The Premier League still dominates the top of the prize money table and that is because of the huge disparity between the media rights it can generate,” Ajadi said. “It's the most watched league among the five major leagues, and that's what gives us the funds to do well in Europe.”

According to Deloitte research, matchday revenue accounts for 18% of club revenue, higher than it has been since the 2014-15 season. Barcelona were the top club in the women's game for the third year in a row, with revenue increasing by 26% from the 2022-23 season to 17.93 million euros (approximately 1.5 billion yen).
