Real Madrid could have breathed a sigh of relief in the first half of Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.
Dani Carabajal came on strong in the second half to help the La Liga giants secure victory, his header in the 74th minute being scored by Vinicius Junior, who added the winner nine minutes later.

“I couldn’t have dreamed of anything better,” 20-year-old Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham told TNT Sports after the match.
Bellingham, who won against his former club Dortmund after moving to Madrid last summer for a fee of more than $139 million, had a chance to score in the 78th minute, but his shot was deflected away in the dying seconds.
“I can’t put it into words, it was the best night of my life,” he added.

Vinicius Junior led the team in La Liga with 15 goals in the season, including two in the semi-final against Bayern Munich and one in the round of 16 against RB Leipzig.
He scored five goals throughout the tournament.
This is Real Madrid’s 15th Champions League trophy and the club’s sixth since the 2013-14 season.
Dortmund tried twice to score in the first half, Niklas Füllkrug hitting the post from close range, but his valiant effort just under five minutes was nowhere near enough to put them within a goal of at least one.
