Realtor charged with clients’ murders held at gunpoint by their son: police

Authorities in North Carolina arrested a Greenville-based real estate agent while investigating a triple homicide and four different crime scenes.

David Hansen Lever, 55, has been charged with three counts of murder in connection with the killing, according to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office. Police arrested Lever after the sons of the two victims pointed a gun at him.

The investigation began on January 10, when detectives found three homicide victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

“As a result of interviews and evidence collection at each scene, a preliminary investigation has established that the incidents are related, but this is an active investigation,” the sheriff's office said in a press release Saturday.

The three victims included a married couple, Tony Gribble, 80, and Paula Gribble, 76, and 64-year-old Enrique Reyes. Authorities said Monday that Lever's relationship with Reyes is unclear, but that the Gribble family used Lever as an intermediary when they purchased the home in 2014. According to WITN.

“Tonight was supposed to be Sunday dinner, but it wasn't,” says son Gribble TD. he told WCTI.

Sheriff Paula Dance said at a news conference Monday that more victims could have been killed if the Gribbles' son had not pointed the gun at Lever. According to WITN.

Dance also said authorities found more than 50 weapons inside Lever's home. They also found a firearm and ammunition in his van, WITN reports.

Lever appeared in court on Monday and referred to District Court Judge Daniel Enzminger as “mother,” the newspaper reported.

TD Gribble said in an interview with WCTI that his parents were loyal and loving.
