Reba McEntire Discusses Her Relationship with Rex Linn

Reba McEntire recently shared insights about her relationship with Rex Linn, highlighting their shared appreciation for “The Cowboy Way of Life.” McEntire, who is preparing to host the Academy of Country Music Awards, spoke about their relationship while on the red carpet at this significant event for country music.

The multi-talented artist expressed, “Rex and I are getting along wonderfully.” She noted, somewhat humorously, that he’s a better cook than she is. “We both love the Longhorns, cowboys, and cowgirls, and we’ve both made our mark in the entertainment world,” she said. “He’s an actor, and I’m a singer who enjoys acting as well. So, it’s truly a perfect match for us.”

In a lighter moment, she mentioned, “We enjoy scaring each other—it’s a bit of fun,” reflecting on the playful aspects of their relationship.

When asked about the possibility of marriage, McEntire said, “You never know. Hopefully, one day.” The couple has been friends since 1991, but their romantic relationship blossomed during 2020 when McEntire guest-starred on Linn’s show, “Young Sheldon.” Their connection deepened considerably during the pandemic, necessitating virtual conversations to develop intimacy.

“We hadn’t seen each other until June 2020, so we relied on texting and phone calls to get closer. It was actually quite special,” she explained, emphasizing how their relationship has flourished since then.

McEntire has been involved in numerous projects since embarking on this relationship, including working on “Happy’s Place,” where Linn also stars. She reflects on the serendipity of timing in her life and career: “I didn’t expect this, but everything just fell into place. Sometimes, it feels like everything happens for a reason.”

She also noted the newfound confidence she feels in her personal life. “If you feel secure in your love life, you can take on the world,” she added.

With an impressive career spanning nearly 50 years, McEntire has accumulated 32 studio albums, 16 ACM Awards, and numerous other accolades. She emphasized that her journey has been about steady growth rather than instant success, with lessons learned at every turn.

As she prepares to host this year’s ACM Awards, McEntire will be joined by notable presenters including Blake Shelton, Clint Black, and Winona Judd. The awards show is set to stream on Amazon Prime from Frisco, Texas, adding another significant chapter to her prolific career.
