Recap of ‘The Golden Bachelor’: Mel’s Fantasy Suite Week with Peg and Cindy Concludes with a Cliffhanger

The Golden Bachelor Season 2 Heads to Antigua

Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor is taking viewers to Antigua, where 66-year-old Mel Owens will introduce final contenders Peg Manson and Cindy Angelcik Cullors to his family. He’ll also share a last romantic date with one of them, all while heading to Fantasy Suites first.

As he prepares for a pivotal week, Mel kicks things off by tossing soccer balls, sipping beer, and hanging out with Jesse Palmer, a friend and host. Jesse brings up Mel’s reluctance to be open about his feelings, prompting a serious conversation.

“I don’t want to throw the word love around carelessly, but… it’s a significant term,” Mel tells Jesse. “It’s a big deal. I don’t want to rush it or play games. Love is not something I say lightly. I’ve been in love once, and it ended in heartbreak. I won’t express my feelings just to say it. My emotions for both women are deep… I need to show that this week.”

So, did Mel go to the Fantasy Suites with Peg and Cindy? And how are his relationships shaping up before the season finale? Keep reading for the recap.

Summary of Peg and Mel’s Fantasy Suite Date: “I’m Totally Committed to Peg.”

Peg didn’t express her love for Mel before the Fantasy Suites, but she did share her thoughts on camera. “If Mel feels the same way I feel, then I’d like to be engaged by the end of the week.” Mel whisked Peg away in a dune buggy for an adventurous date, and once she took the wheel, things picked up speed. After a breezy ride, Mel declares, “I’m all in for Peg.”

The couple reminisced about their hometown date while enjoying champagne, later having a romantic dinner on the beach. Mel finally opened up about his feelings: “I love you so much. It’s almost unreal. I love the way you make me feel and your beautiful spirit.” He then invited Peg to join him in the Fantasy Suite, and she eagerly accepted!

The next morning, viewers noticed a change in Mel—he was smiling, joking, and seemed different, almost carefree. After what looked like an amazing night, they discussed their time together. “Last night, Mel showed me he can be open and vulnerable. He makes me feel heard and safe,” Peg shared. But there’s still Cindy in the picture…

Summary of Cindy and Mel’s Fantasy Suite Date: “Do You Have a Will?”

Cindy, on the other hand, had already told Mel she was in love before heading into Fantasy Suites. She expressed some fears about the strength of their connection since Mel had seemed reserved during Hometowns. “I’d love for him to break down his walls and share his true feelings with me,” she said prior to their scheduled date.

When Mel revealed they would be swimming with stingrays, Cindy shared her excitement based on a previous underwater adventure. As they made their way through the experience, Cindy focused on encouraging Mel, who seemed apprehensive. After some swimming, they enjoyed smoothies before a romantic dinner on a candlelit pier. Mel likely hoped for a low-drama night, but Cindy pushed for clarity about his feelings.

During dinner, Cindy queried Mel about Peg, seeking insight into his intentions and desires by the end of their journey. Mel replied thoughtfully, though it didn’t satisfy her curiosity. “Is it me? Is it Peg? I want to feel like my partner is thrilled to move forward with me,” she reflected. Just as the episode ended, Mel was cryptic, leading Cindy to ask, “That begs the question: Is there a will?” The cliffhanger left viewers wondering about their communication issues moving forward.

The next episode of The Golden Bachelor will provide more insight as the finale is set to air on Wednesday, November 12. Stay tuned!
