Alex Rodriguez Spotted at NBA Game Amid Breakup News
On Thursday night, Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez was seen enjoying the atmosphere at Madison Square Garden during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, despite some personal news breaking earlier in the day.
Hours before the game, it became public that Rodriguez had ended his long-term relationship with Jaclyn Cordeiro, a split that came after over three years together. The breakup was reportedly mutual.
During the match, which saw the Knicks triumph 109-93 over the Cavaliers, Rodriguez took a moment to snap a photo with musician Jon Bon Jovi.
While he seemed to be attending the game solo, he was in good company, sharing the row with other celebrities like tennis great John McEnroe, actress Mariska Hargitay, actor Timothée Chalamet, and rapper Fat Joe.
Rodriguez and Cordeiro were first linked romantically in 2022. A source disclosed that Cordeiro had made their breakup public several weeks after they had initially separated.
The source emphasized that there remains a strong sense of respect between them. Cordeiro also noted, “To be clear, although Alex and I have now separated for some time, our love and respect for each other and our families still hold true. We continue to support one another without any animosity.” She added, “I’m dealing with serious family health issues, so that has become my main focus. We are still close but, out of respect for everyone involved, especially my daughter and loved ones, I hope the reporting can honor the sensitivity of this situation.”
Rodriguez had first publicly confirmed their relationship via an Instagram post in December 2022. Prior to this relationship, he was engaged to Jennifer Lopez, but they called off their engagement in 2021.
