Recognizing Charlie Kirk had its price: ‘We were excluded’

Reactions to Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

Charlie Kirk, known for his outspoken views and debates on college campuses, was recently assassinated, leaving many in shock, including Cliff and Stuart Knettle, who had collaborated with him numerous times. Disturbingly, they discovered that some college students seemed pleased about his death.

During a conversation with Blaze TV host Allie Beth Stuckey, Cliff shared his thoughts on the matter. “At the moment he was shot, he was simply engaging with others, just like you both have been doing for years,” she remarked.

She further added, “He was discussing uncomfortable yet important truths about sexuality and gender.” Cliff, visibly upset, described the situation as “an incredible tragedy and an insane act of violence. It’s just pathetic. Charlie was deeply religious.”

Cliff went on to speak about Charlie’s unique ability to articulate complex subjects clearly, emphasizing the Biblical perspectives on abortion and sexuality. According to him, Charlie encouraged students to think critically while maintaining respect.

Yet, Cliff admitted that some of Charlie’s more radical political views were things he personally didn’t agree with. Stuart also experienced backlash after holding a vigil for Charlie. “People were leaving our church,” he explained. “In our left-leaning town, we were ostracized. The responses, even from friends, were shocking and often conspiratorial.”

He concluded with a sentiment of sadness, indicating that the situation felt tragic to him.
