Maguire declared victory on Tuesday night, but so far no major news outlets have yet announced the election results.

Good stressed Wednesday morning that the race is “difficult to predict.”

“We are at a point where we need to legislate a process to assess the accuracy of all vote totals from Election Day so that everyone can have full confidence in the certified results,” he wrote in a post on X. “Provisional and mail-in ballots have also not yet been counted.”

“I ask for full transparency from the authorities and patience from the people of the 5th District during the next few weeks while the certification of the results is completed. I believe we can still win,” he added.

Good supported Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) in the Republican primary, only switching to Trump after the governor dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump himself, but then faced a challenge from McGuire.

In a statement endorsing Maguire on May 28, President Trump declared that Goode had “turned his back on our great movement.”

The winner of this election will face Democrat Gloria Witt in the general election.
