Red Bull and VCARB reveal their designs for the upcoming season in F1 news

The 2026 F1 Season Has Started

It seems that the 2026 Formula 1 season has unofficially kicked off. Recently, in Detroit, the Red Bull and VisaCash Racing Bulls teams presented their new designs for the upcoming season. The event took place at Ford, where both teams unveiled their paint schemes while also announcing a new power unit collaboration with Ford.

Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of Red Bull’s corporate initiatives, described this phase as a “new chapter.” He emphasized the significance of developing their own engine for the track. “It’s a bold step for us. We’re eager to see how this vehicle and power unit perform as new regulations come into play,” he noted. Mintzlaff recalled taking similar risks back in 2005 when they entered F1, suggesting that the same adventurous spirit persists.

For Ford, this return is more than just a comeback; it’s about finishing what they started. Will Ford expressed the excitement surrounding this announcement, stating, “It’s been 22 years—far too long. We’re reconnecting with our roots as we approach the Australian Grand Prix in March 2026.” He added a personal touch, remarking that seeing the family name back on such a prominent stage feels like unaddressed business.

In terms of aesthetics, Red Bull’s new design features notable enhancements, especially with an increase in blue that stands out from their usual black scheme. Max Verstappen, the team driver, described the new livery as “much better” than those of the past. He remarked on the fresh appeal and, interestingly, how the changes in the engine and car dimensions require some adjustment for drivers.

Verstappen’s new teammate, Izak Hajjar, made his debut at this launch. After a year with VCARB, he expressed his dream of driving for the Red Bull team, even recalling how he admired Vettel’s championship victories when he was younger. He noted how the new design particularly catches the eye during night races and voiced his ambition to win the first race.

Meanwhile, VCARB rolled out a design that stays true to their previous year’s look, predominantly featuring white. At the event, Lawson remarked on the significance of unveiling their 2026 livery in Detroit, linking it to the team’s innovation and the hopeful future fueled by their partnership with Ford. The energy within the team is palpable as they gear up for the new season.

Arvid Lindblad, stepping into Hajjar’s former position with VCARB, described his introduction as an F1 driver at such a historic venue as “surreal.” He expressed his eagerness to learn and help the team regain its competitive edge as they embark on this new journey together.

With two teams laying out their designs so far, nine others are expected to follow. One of these is the Cadillac team, which plans to showcase its design with a Super Bowl advertisement. Next up, Haas is anticipated to reveal its new look the following Monday.
