Red Sox’s Jarren Duran Has Top-Selling Jersey After Suspension for Calling Fan a Gay Slur

Boston Red Sox management may be unhappy with outfielder Jarren Duran, who lashed out at vocal fans at Fenway Park last Sunday, but fans weren’t too cranky and have made the player’s jerseys best-selling.

On Sunday, Duran got into an altercation with a fan who was yelling at him throughout the match, and at one point, Duran hurled homophobic slurs at the fan.

After the fight, Duran apologized for his language, was suspended for two games, and donated his salary from those two games to organizations that support gay youth.

Despite the team’s appropriate response to the incident, many fans seemed to have an opposing reaction.

According to Fox News, Duran’s jersey Top Sellers Since serving his suspension, he has been on sale at the MLB Shop.

Duran is one of the standout players in baseball, currently leading the American League with 13 triples and 36 doubles. He was recently named MVP of the MLB All-Star Game and is batting .291/.350/.503 with 14 home runs, 36 doubles, 13 triples and 29 stolen bases on 33 attempts this season.
