DeSantis Addresses Immigration Operations and Backlash in Minnesota

On Sunday, during an episode of FNC’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis discussed the ongoing immigration enforcement actions and the reactions they’re provoking in Minnesota.

He suggested that red states face different challenges compared to blue states regarding these issues.

Host Mark Levin pointed out, “I observe these blue cities and states. They profess to be sanctuaries, but that’s not really feasible under the Constitution. They couldn’t do it during the Confederacy, and they seem to be repeating that notion, acting like they’re outside of the republic, but the truth is they’re not.” He added, “You hear mayors and governors inciting unrest, and there are groups who appear to be hired troublemakers showing up.”

Levin then noted, “You don’t see much of that in your state. So, what’s the approach? You collaborate with ICE, inform immigration authorities, and let them know when dangerous individuals are being released from jail. Meanwhile, Democrats appear to align with societal threats.”

In response, DeSantis affirmed, “Absolutely, we take all those actions, Mark. Consequently, we’ve enhanced safety. The immigration issue isn’t just crucial; public safety is critical. I believe it’s even more pressing than that. The current administration under President Biden has essentially disregarded his responsibility to enforce immigration laws, leading to an open border and weakened domestic enforcement. In contrast, President Trump focused on border security.” He emphasized that immigration laws are meant for the protection of citizens.

“Our efforts not only ensure that illegal immigrants are removed and that taxpayers are safeguarded, but we’re also working to reflect the people’s will ahead of the 2024 elections,” he continued. “What’s happening in blue states seems aimed at losing elections and undermining the consistent enforcement of immigration law. It’s more than just dissent; it’s about urging citizens to take their own actions, which threatens federal law enforcement personnel.”

DeSantis concluded, “If the situations were flipped, red states wouldn’t be able to do what blue states are doing right now.”
