Reddit users tell man to divorce wife after ‘psychic’ interferes with his marriage

A Reddit user is divorcing his wife after falsely telling her that her “psychic” friend was cheating on her.

“Didn’t Aita consider calling off the divorce even though my ex-lover admitted that her ‘psychic’ friend lied about cheating on me?” Reddit asked Reddit user “Successful-Top3827” in a Friday, May 3, post to the “AITAH” subreddit.

“AITAH” stands for “I am the hole here.”

This is similar to the “Am I the A–hole” subreddit.

Successful-Top3827 said in his post that he met his wife, Lorna, during their college days, adding, “The fact that she is highly educated means she has some common sense. “He clearly had a terrible assumption.”

The couple lived together for two years before getting married, and at the wedding, Successful-Top3827 wrote in a post that he met Lorna’s friend Anna.

“At our wedding, I met Anna, an old friend of hers. She was a gypsy, so she offered to read my palm,” he says, which he found “strange.” That’s what it means.

“I work in construction and I know some people from that group, and they call themselves Roma,” he said.

Successful-Top3827 said Anna works as a seamstress in New York City and doesn’t visit often. He and his wife have only seen her “maybe four times” in the past two years, most recently around Labor Day 2023.

“That’s when things started going wrong. All of a sudden Lorna started acting strange,” he said.

“She started checking on me at work. She would come over when I was working late. Her phone was about to go off, so she turned my phone in. I’m asking you to use it.”

Eventually, Lorna accused Successful-Top3827 of cheating on her, but he thought it was a joke.

“This excites her like a Roman candle.”

“I laugh and say no,” he said. “This makes her as uncomfortable as a Roman candle. For when her Anna came to tell Lorna her truth, I told her I would laugh at her.”

Successful-Top3827 laughed, but revealed that his work schedule and the fact that he was with his wife most of the time outside of work made the concept of an affair “ridiculous.”

“And most importantly, I love my wife. I would never do anything to hurt her,” he said.

“But she still believes the psychic seamstress Anna’s words more than mine.”

Lorna then asked Successful-Top3827 to leave, but he refused — because he had nowhere else to go, he wrote. Instead, Lorna moved in with his parents.

“My father told me to shake my head, but I only do that when I’m really stupid.”

“They think she’s crazy too,” he wrote to others.

Successful-Top3827 then “spent the next few months” trying to convince his wife that he wasn’t cheating on her.

Lorna’s family remained silent about the situation until Christmas, when “there was an intervention,” he detailed in the post.

“I was told that my wife was out of touch with reality and stuck in it. My father told me to shake my head, but I only do that when I’m really stupid.” he said.

Successful-Top3827 reportedly started divorce proceedings in January. Three months later, in April, he wrote, “Lorna called me to talk.”

“In the end [she] And her parents hired a private investigator to catch me cheating. “Six months later, I still had a huge bill, but there was zero evidence of an affair,” he said.

“She finally believed me and said she wanted to go home.”

When nothing happened, Successful-Top3827 told the woman that her lease was up in July and that she was moving to Denver to be closer to family.

“She said she would come with me. I politely declined. I said we weren’t right for each other,” he said.

“The truth is, I don’t want my descendants to share DNA with this emoji.”

However, Rhona’s family is clearly upset that Successful-Top3827 is proceeding with the divorce.

“Her family approached me several times. Finally, her father offered to put 25 percent down on the house if I agreed.”[d] “Don’t just quit, go to marriage counseling,” he said.

“I politely decline your request. I cannot accept your purchase.”
