According to Downdetector data, Reddit and X users encountered widespread service disruption on Thursday afternoon.
The issue was reported as thousands of users were flooded down detectors, so they started spikes around 3pm. This is a site that tracks real-time issues and outages across websites and services.

On Reddit, users cited issues loading issues, logging in, and accessing SubredDits.
The cause of the outage remains unknown.
Neither company commented on whether the issue is related or coincidence.
