A fan ran onto the field during a game between the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark on Tuesday night. Running onto the field wasn’t enough: The fan decided to do a backflip, too. He managed to do it just before he was shot with a taser, handcuffed and escorted off the field.
The Guardians beat the Reds 5-3 in Cincinnati to win the first game of a two-game series. Cleveland has been in good form since the start of the season, leading the American League Central Division, but the loss put the Reds three games below .500.
Let’s be clear: jumping onto the field at a sporting event is stupid, dangerous, and disrespectful to the players on the field. If there’s one good thing to say about the Cincinnati fan on Tuesday night, it’s that the guy did a pretty neat backflip. Check out the video here.
From another angle it looks like this:
Getting tasered is no fun, and this genius thought he could escape the guards after landing a backflip, but he didn’t – he’ll be feeling the pain the next morning.
The Reds lost, and so did these fans, but that was a great backflip, brother.
