Reese Witherspoon Offers Insight on Friendship with Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt

Reese Witherspoon recently shared her thoughts about her longtime friend Jennifer Aniston and Aniston’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

“I think she’s not really what people assume. Maybe she’s holding onto some past ideas, but also, she’s not,” Witherspoon, 49, explained during a recent episode of the Armchair Expert podcast.

Host Dax Shepard, 50, noted, “It’s not like she has any admiration for Brad Pitt.”

Witherspoon responded, adding that for Aniston’s 50th birthday, a diverse group of people from her past attended—friends from her youth, staff, and even exes—which, to Witherspoon, highlights Aniston’s admirable qualities.

According to reports, Brad Pitt, now 61, and his former fiancée Gwyneth Paltrow participated in the celebration of Aniston’s milestone birthday in February 2019.

Witherspoon characterized Aniston, 56, as a “spiritually honest person,” emphasizing their 25-year friendship.

She also echoed Shepard’s observation that Aniston isn’t known for “building bridges,” acknowledging that while she holds no grudges, they have quite different personalities.

“She’s warm and welcoming, like a wonderful host, really. I think I’m more of the nerdy type,” Witherspoon said.

Aniston recently made her relationship with hypnotist Jim Curtis Instagram official. She was married to Pitt from 2000 until 2005 and then to actor Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2018, with whom she remains on friendly terms.

She has also been linked to various other prominent figures, including John Mayer and Vince Vaughn.
