Robin Williams was born on July 21, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, and was an American actor and comedian.
The beloved actor tragically passed away by suicide on August 11, 2014.
Williams is survived by his three children, Zachary Pym Williams, Zelda Williams and Cody Williams.

Williams’ first wife, Valerie Velardi, is Zach’s mother. The two married in 1978 and divorced in 1988. Velardi later admitted to having tolerated infidelity during their relationship.
Williams married film producer Marcia Garces in 1989 and had two children, Zelda and Cody, before divorcing in 2010, citing irreconcilable differences.
Graphic designer Susan Schneider married Williams in 2011. The couple honeymooned in Paris. After Williams’ death, Schneider said Williams had been pursued by an “invisible monster” before his tragic death.
In 1977, Williams starred in her first film, Can I Do It… ‘Til I Need Glasses?, which also starred Jeff Doucette and comedian Roger Bear.

In the late 1980s, Williams starred in Popeye, a musical comedy adaptation of the popular cartoon, starring Shelley Duvall as Olive Oyl.
Williams received his first Oscar nomination in 1988 for playing military radio DJ Adrian Cronauer in the war comedy “Good Morning, Vietnam.” However, actor Michael Douglas took home the gold statue for his role as Gordon Gekko in “Wall Street.”
In 1989, Williams was nominated for an Academy Award again, this time for his role as John Keating, the lovable boys’ school English teacher in Live and Let Die..Williams once again lost the gold statue, this time to Daniel Day-Lewis for his role as Christy Brown in the comedy-drama My Left Foot.

“Death Becomes a Part of Life,” which also starred Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, was nominated for and won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1990. The film grossed more than $235 million worldwide, according to E! Online.
In 1992, Williams voiced the larger-than-life, eccentric “Genie” in the Disney film Aladdin.
Williams played perhaps the most famous role of his career, playing Mrs. Eupheginia Doubtfire in the 1993 comedy-drama Mrs. Doubtfire, which also starred Sally Field.
The legendary actor also appeared in memorable films such as Patch Adams, Flubber, Good Will Hunting, Happy Feet, the Night at the Museum series, and RV, co-starring Josh Hutcherson and Cheryl Hines.

Williams also appeared on popular TV shows such as “Happy Days,” “Saturday Night Live,” “Sesame Street” and “Friends.”
His final project with Williams is Once Upon a Studio, a nine-minute short film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios that will be released in 2023 and will feature some of Williams’ voice acting.
Williams’ death shocked the world, as fans across Hollywood and around the world mourned the loss of the legendary actor and comedian.

Actor Steve Martin posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he was “frightened beyond belief by the loss of Robin Williams – a great man, incredible talent, acting partner and pure soul.”
Film director Steven Spielberg mourned Williams’ death, writing, “Robin was a lightning bolt of comedic genius and our laughter was his thunder. He was a friend and I cannot believe he is gone.”

“Sharing your grieving process with the world has been difficult,” Williams’ son, Zach, told “Good Morning Britain” in a 2019 interview.
“It was hard at times to distinguish between the personal grief and loss and the public grief and experiencing community interaction and communication. I wasn’t prepared,” he added.
