Footage Reveals Disturbing Moments Before Fatal Shooting in Minneapolis
Recently released video from an ICE agent’s phone sheds light on the tense seconds leading to the shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good in Minneapolis. The footage, captured by Agent Jonathan Ross, showcases an atmosphere that shifts markedly. Initially, Renee seems calm, even smiling as she reassures Ross, “I’m not mad at you.” Yet, things quickly spiral out of control.
As Ross maneuvers around the vehicle, Renee’s wife, Rebecca Brown Good, can be seen recording the encounter and provoking the officers. She demands that they show their faces and accuses them of frequently changing license plates. The situation reaches a tipping point when Rebecca reportedly encourages Renee to “drive off” right before the car accelerates toward the agent, leading to the deadly shots being fired.
“You want to come at us? You want to come at us?” Rebecca can be heard saying in the background, followed by her taunting Ross, “I said go get yourself some lunch, big boy. Go ahead.”
Other officers approached the vehicle, instructing, “Get out of the car. Out of the car. Get out of the f**king car.” Just as Rebecca reaches for the passenger-side door, Renee unexpectedly puts the car in reverse, backing up a few feet.
“Drive, baby, drive!” Rebecca urges as Renee shifts the vehicle forward, turning the wheels to the right.
The footage then captures Ross’s shout followed by the sound of impact, right before three gunshots are heard, one of which breaks through the windshield. Shortly after, Renee’s vehicle collides with two parked cars nearby.
This footage was released after surveillance video from earlier that day showed Good blocking the street with her SUV for approximately four minutes prior to the shooting. Additionally, separate footage captured the aftermath, revealing a distraught Rebecca admitting, “It’s my fault.”
Both Renee and Rebecca were known activists in a local “ICE Watch” network, which focuses on monitoring and resisting ICE operations.
Vice President JD Vance shared the officer’s footage on X, urging viewers to watch it despite its difficulties. He commented, “Many of you have been told this law enforcement officer wasn’t hit by a car, wasn’t being harassed, and murdered an innocent woman. The reality is that his life was endangered and he fired in self-defense.”
“What the press has done in lying about this innocent law enforcement officer is disgusting. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.”
Furthermore, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to X, stating, “The media smeared an ICE Agent who properly defended himself from being run over by organized leftist protesters who were impeding an active law enforcement operation. The reason trust in the media is at an all-time low is that they intentionally lie to the public to advance the Democrats’ narrative.”
Following the incident, protests erupted, prompting Minnesota’s Democratic Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to encourage demonstrators to remain peaceful while asking federal agents to withdraw from the city.
“Get the f**k out of Minneapolis,” was the explicit call from the Mayor to ICE officers, dismissing the “self-defense” statement as “bulls**t.”
Vance contended that the shooting was justifiable based on new evidence, claiming Good was a “victim of left-wing ideology” that led her to obstruct law enforcement and resist arrest.
UPDATE – 1/9/26 – 7:09 pm – The initial title inaccurately referred to Renee Good as “Rachel Good.”
