Rep. Andy Ogles says he’s being investigated by the FBI

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., announced on social media Tuesday that his cell phone was seized by the FBI last week, a day after he won the GOP primary in the Volunteer State.

Ogles, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, made a statement on the X about the investigation that is allegedly related to campaign finance documents. Sources confirmed to Fox News that FBI agents executed a search warrant at his Washington, D.C. office last week.

“It has been widely reported for months that my campaign made errors in our initial financial reporting,” the Tennessee politician said in his post. “We have been working diligently, working with legal counsel and reporting experts, to correct those errors and ensure compliance going forward.”

“The FBI confiscated my cell phone last Friday.”

Ogles added that he believes the seizure of his cellphone is related to his campaign documents and vowed to cooperate with authorities.

“My understanding is that they are investigating the same well-known facts surrounding these filings,” the Republican added. “Of course, I intend to cooperate fully with them, as well as the Federal Election Commission.”

“I am confident that all involved will conclude that the discrepancies in the reports were the result of honest mistakes and nothing more.”

Last Thursday, Ogles won a highly-anticipated primary against Nashville City Councilwoman Courtney Johnston, whose supporters include former President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana.

“Andy is committed to growing our economy, stopping inflation, securing our southern border, upholding the rule of law, and defending the Second Amendment,” Trump wrote on Truth Social in May. “I am proud to help Andy take back House seats for the Democrats in 2022. I fully support him for reelection. He will not let you down!”
